Diagnóstico de productores de zonas de café de alta calidad en la taza en Tercer Frente, Guisa y Jibacoa

Abstract
The work was carried out during 2015 and 2016, in the Empresas Agro-Forestales of Tercer Frente, Guisa and Jibacoa, Santiago de Cuba, Granma and Villa Clara provinces, respectively; with the objective of carrying out a diagnosis to coffee grower of superior quality. 15 areas were selected in those that the rising and identification of producers was carried out. Coordination meetings with the Enterprises, base entities, technicians and extensionists were made by area. A database for the compilation and processing of information’s was created. The results showed that: only is devoted to the coffee 76.6 % of the total area (613.9 ha); while 55 % of the plants are productive. The altitude was between 424 and 505 msnm and the slope it oscillated between 25 and 36 %; the effective depth of the soils averaged 37 cm. The technology of more applied pruning it was the sanitation (70 % of the plantations). The remaining ones are not used. The shade of the area in production is regulated lightly to 52 % (445 ha), the deep regulation was executed in alone 12.5 ha. The infestation percentage of the coffee borer was between 3 % and 20 % with the highest value in Tercer Frente and the minor in Guisa. Only in 33.8 % of the total area with coffee (407.3 ha) measures of soil conservation are applied. The best behavior in yield and quality was in Jibacoa (0.14 t of coffee gold/ha and 70 % first quality); while the worst result was of Tercer Frente with 0.10 t of coffee gold/ha and 20 % first quality.
