Caracterización socioproductiva de cooperativas cafetaleras en el oriente de Cuba

Abstract

With the objective of characterizing 30 coffee cooperatives in Cuba training indicators, production and quality of coffee, complementary productions and gender were evaluated. They were carried out interviews, surveys and revisions of documents that showed the existence of training demands in fundamental topics to achieve sustainable coffee properties. They were yields agricultural first floor (0,13 t brown oro/ha) and qualities low, insufficient application of mitigation actions and adaptation to the climatic changes, methods of watering high consumers of time and it forces of work in the production of postures. Special coffees are not marketed although they take place and the potentialities exist for the extension. The complementary productions to the coffee are achieved in all the cooperatives and they contribute to the alimentary security of the local communities standing out the cultivations of: Dioscorea alata, Musa sp., Citrus sp., Mangifera indica, Chrysophyllum cainito, Persea americana, Pouteria sapota, Artocarpu saltilis. 70 % of the entities doesn’t produce postures of fruit-bearing. The commercialization of fruits is very below the production, being the means of transport the main ones restrictive, exposed by the producers. Alone a CCS markets the medicinal plants, the rest although they produce them they don’t market them. The woman’s empoderamiento is observed evidenced in 78 % of the cooperatives where women leaders of properties were and in 99 % with address responsibilities.
