Decrease of damages for Damping off in coffee grafts by means of chemical and biological methods
Main Article Content
Abstract
The experiment was developed during 2013 and 2014 years, in the Estación Experimental Agroforestal III Frente (to 150 msnm), located in the property La Mandarina, Tercer Frente, Santiago de Cuba province, with the objective of diminishing the damages for damping off in coffee grafts by means of chemical and biological methods. Four solutions were got ready to absorb during 3 hours the made grafts that conformed the treatments: 100 g of Trichoderma in 1 L of water (witness), 100 g of Mushrooms mycorrhizal formers (Glomus cubenses) in 80 mL of water, 5 g of Ridomil (systemic fungicide) in 1 L of water, 5 g of Serene (fungicide) in 1 L of water. Were transplanted to trays of poli-foam with river sand as substratum, previously disinfected with a solution of formol to 5 %, which were placed in acclimated place of metallic shelves covered by bands of transparent plastic, where they remained 35 days. Every 7 days the dead grafts were counted by damping off (P) and for other causes (OR), being determined the percentage of survival and the total, these evaluations were made in 4 lots of grafts that were not low an experimental design. The Trichoderma use and mycorrhizas attenuated the death of the grafts respectively in 8.65 and 7.37 % during the acclimatization process what contributes to the seedlings obtaining with a development appropriate morphologic. The Serene fungicide was not efficient in the control of the damages for damping off. The expenses of the treatment with Watchman regarding the treatments with Trichoderma and mycorrhizas were superior in 44 and 46 % and with Ridomil in 15 and 16 % respectively.
