Development of postures of coffees in plugs with different substratum
Main Article Content
Abstract
The investigation was developed in the nursery of the Estación Experimental Agro-Forestal III Frente, Santiago de Cuba province, to value the effect of the organic manure sources and the inclusion of the national Litonita, the Zeolita and the Mycorrhizas in the coffee seedlings (Coffea arabica L.) var. ‘Island 5-15’ development, taken place in plugs of 120 cm3 of capacity, in shed of mesh zaharan. In a design totally randomized with factorial outline of 3 x 6 with two reference witness. The effect of two factors was studied: 1) three sources of organic manure (worm humus, coffee pulp and filter cake) and 2) inclusion of Litonite (0; 10; 20 and 30%), Zeolite (20%) and EcoMic® in the substratum. As witness the mixture soil/organic manure was used 3/1(v/v) in bags and in plugs. At the 6 later months to the transplant were evaluated: the height, the diameter of the stalk, the number of leaves even, the foliate area and the dry mass. The filter cake was the source of organic manure that propitiated the best growth in the postures with an increment of 71,84% of the height, 231,64% of the foliate area and 64,66% of the dry mass with relationship to the witness in plugs. Among the components of the substratum the best growth was reached with the inclusion 20% of Zeolite, what increased the height in 61,98%, the foliate area in 207,62% and the dry mass in 56,99% with relationship to the witness in plugs.
