Determinación de pronósticos mensuales de la cosecha de cacao en plantaciones de Baracoa, provincia de Guantánamo

Abstract
In areas of the Estación Experimental Agro-Forestal Baracoa, in the Guantánamo province, belonging to the Instituto de Investigaciones Agro-Forestales, the present work was carried out in the 2013 and 2014 years, with the objective of determining the monthly presage of the harvest of cocoa (Theobroma cocoa L.) that contributes to the improvement of the current methodology of estimating of harvest starting from plants signs, proposed by Pérez and col. (2002). To complete that purpose was carried out a previous evaluation of the development of the fruits in correspondence with the age, what allowed predicting the months of storing of the cobs, as well as the production volumes to be harvested. Leaving of this evaluation was proven the estimating presage of tons of humid cocoa and the gathered productions, what hurtled that under favorable climatic conditions the results for both years oscillated in the range of 5 % of effectiveness that is valid for these studies.
