Abstract
With the objective of evaluating the effect of the use of strains of mycorrhizal fungus (HMA) in the growth and the nutritious absorption of Theobroma cocoa Lin. seedlings sowed in substrata with different fertility, the experiment was developed in the nursery of the Institute of Agro-Forest Investigations UCTB Tercer Frente between October 2013 and March 2014. In a design the combinations of the two factors were studied totally at random, in study: fertility of the substratum (Brown soil/filter cake-5/1 and 7/1) and mycorrhiza strains (without inoculation, Glomus cubense, Rhizophagus intraradice and Funneliformis mosseae. In 10 of the 20 seedlings the height, the number of leaves, the diameter of the shaft, the foliate area, the dry mass, and the efficiency of the inoculation and the index of seedlings quality were evaluated. A differentiated effect of the mycorrhizas existed in the growth of the cocoa. Glomus cubense and Rhizophagus intraradice in the proportion 7/1 propitiated significant increments of the indicators of growth and of seedlings nutritious absorption. When inoculating the seedlings of cocoa with Funneliformis mosseae the morphological indicatives and of nutritious absorption were diminished independently of the used substratum. Glomus cubense was the most efficient strain and it facilitated the obtaining of seedlings with superior quality, better indexes of using and the nutrients absorption and a saving of $5419,57 for 100 thousand seedlings in comparison with the current technology.
