Abstract
The work was developed in the municipalities Tercer Frente and Guisa, of the Santiago de Cuba and Granma provinces, respectively, during November of 2015 to December of 2016 with the objective of determining the reduction in weight of the gold coffee in correspondence with different percentages of the berry borer infestation in cherries of coffee. Of the lots that arrived to the centers of benefit La Maestra, Monjará, and Los Monos, it took samples until composing the different treatments and their respective replicates. 11 treatments were evaluated with 10 repetitions. In most of the cases to achieve the percentages of wanted infestation was induced the brocade coffee to the different treatments and replicates, those that were processed by means of the benefit by dry way. The loss in weight of the gold coffee with regard to the percentage of affectation of the coffee borer, manifested reduction of up to 18,8 g/kg when the infestation percentage responded to 5 %, the other evaluated treatments reported directly proportional behavior to the Treatment 2 results.
