Influencia de Rhizobium en el desarrollo y uso eficiente de nutrientes por Canavalia ensiformis en suelos de Jibacoa1
Main Article Content
Abstract
Canavalia ensiformis is a legume that performs symbiosis with species of the rhizobia family of the soil, which makes it a high quality green manure. The objective of the research was to evaluate the influence of Rhizobium isolates on the development and efficient use of nutrients by canavalia in the Jibacoa town, municipality of Manicaragua, Villa Clara province, Cuba, belonging to the Institute of Agro-Forestry Research. The study was carried out from September to November 2014. The experiment had 13 treatments distributed in a randomized block design with three replicates, of them an absolute control (without inoculum), a reference control (strain Can4) and 11 Rhizobium isolates from the Tercer Frente soils. The plants of canavalia were evaluated at the time of flowering: number of effective nodules, number of trifoliate leaves, diameter of the stem, total dry mass, absorption and efficient use of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The Rhizobium isolates increased the effective nodulation in the canavalia plants; Cb3, Cb6a and Cb1 favored the highest effective nodulation although without differences of Cb6, Cb8 and Cb13. The Rhizobium isolates from the soils of the Third Front presented positive influence on the development and efficient use of nutrients by the canavalia compared to the control in the Reddish Brown Fersialitic soils of Jibacoa, but the Can4 strain was the one that presented in a general sense the better results in the indicators evaluated.
